Title: istick 50, intermittent fail
Post by: brian.tpa.1620 on August 07, 2015, 09:58:42 PM
My buddy just gave me a mod to look at. Its the istick 50w
The mods original complaint was that it would say low power when the power button was engaged with fully charged batteries and with a 5v 1a micro usb power supply applied.
I had a 1.6ohm atty on it and the display would occasionally read 0.0ohms.
I dismantled the mod. I found a loose connection at the base of the 510 connector. I resoldered that back, attached the atty and it fired. Yay.
That was short lived happiness.
Both faults came back.
Ummm. ...
I'm thinking I need to resolder all wire connections.

Its possible some moisture got inside and is screwing things up.... try drying it out good.

Make sure the micro USB connector is clean and clear of debris

That's what I was thinking.

It's been open and on my bench. I'll keep tweaking on it trying to duplicate each error independently
