  Hi Chriscb
Welcome to the Den.
Plat Ice was Platinum Ice a brand name for nicotine base.
Its better to use milliliters instead of drops so take each drop as 1ml.
Plenty of places on the net where you can buy nicotine base in varying strengths but my PC is down so I don't have the links at the moment,
The Den has some mixing calculators but againI don't have the links at the moment, sure someone will post them for you.

Why not pop a post in the new members section so everyone can say Hi

Got my new kit today and have tried to make this recipe. all i can smell and taste is vanilla....nothing like the shop made one I used for a while...I used the calculator from the sit I got the kit from...make my vape... and gave it a good shake and also used the microwave for 8 seconds to instantly steep.   I know I should leave it for a few days but it tastes vile and not sure what I have done wrong.

#   ml   Drops    Percentage
PG   8.7ml   174   29.00%
VG   12ml   240   40.00%
Nicotine   7.2ml   144   24.00%
Diluent   0ml   0   0.00%
Flavour 1   0.9ml   18   3.00%
Flavour 2   0.6ml   12   2.00%
Flavour 3   0.6ml   12   2.00%
Total   30ml   600   100%

any help please...or am I better just sticking to a single flavour?

Chris

Some flavors can take a while steeping before the proper taste comes through so put it away for a month or so then try it again.
Try standing your mix in a dish of hot water to help with steeping, microwaves can easily overdo things.
If you are like me its probably best to start simple and get adventurous when you get the hang of things.
Flavorings can vary greatly between manufacturers so the amount you use varies accordingly.
You can always add flavoring if the taste doesn't come through but give it time before you do.
Most of the flavorings I use are best at around 10% of the total mix so that could be a reasonable starting point for you.

Welcome to the Den Chris  :()()

Flavor concentrates will vary greatly from manufacturer. Even then they will change the actual flavoring over time.

The more ingredients you have in a mix the probability of coming up with something nice decreases. You have to be sure what you have for concentrate is usable first. One drop too many here and not enough drops there will throw it off course.

I test new concentrates when I first get them without nicotine. 1 drop flavor and 9 - 19 drops VG/PG. It helps to know what you are working with before starting. Some flavors are meant to provide subtle notes while others are supposed to have more of a presence. That simple test will let you know the flavor profile you are dealing with and if it is of any use to you.

It's no different then cooking with spices.

It may be easier to just get a premixed concentrate to start off with... then dissect that to your own recipe.

I typed "cherry bakewell vape concentrate" into google and came up with many offerings. So it is an option.
