How long do flavorings last if refrigerated?
« on: February 06, 2021, 09:16:08 PM »
I have a multitude of flavorings that I have been storing in my refrigerator for years.

Does anyone know how long they last or how to tell if they are still good?

The reason I ask is that I am down to my last 60 ml of MBV Green Apple and will need to buy more soon if the old flavorings I have cannot be used.

If they look, smell, and taste right I would use them.

I saw nothing in the reference that said they went bad from long storage. The concerns seemed to be about the flavors changing over time, as well as the rubber in dripper caps reacting with the flavoring.

I will probably buy new flavorings anyway. The major problem is that my favorite is from Mt Baker Vapor. They only sell "flavor shots" which apparently are not very concentrated since they recommended I start at about 20%. The PA and other flavor makers seem to recommend starting at anywhere from 2.5% to 5%.
