the difference between a clearomizer and a cartomizer
« on: May 25, 2012, 02:14:28 PM »
What is the difference?  ???  With a clearomizer you can see your liquid as with a cartomizer you can't? I am confused ??? (nothing new there lol).
Thanks
Cara

A clearomizer is a type of cartomizer.  It started out as a model/brand name for the clear CE2 cartos, but people seem to be using the term for that particular type of cartomizer regardless of the brand.  There's basically two types of cartos, the ones with the axial (vertical) coil and filler like the DCT cartos and the ones like the clearomizers with the lateral (horizontal) coil and wick.  You can find both types in either metal or see through plastic.

And the vision ego is a clearomizer because the wick is outside the silver part? But a DCT carto is a cartomizer because it has no wick? I am sorry, having a blond moment lol... ???

Hehe, pretty much.  But, if the Vision eGo was not see through, it would be called a cartomizer, not a clearomizer.

Why do they(being the e-cig company's) have to make it sooooo confusing?  >:(

That's probably true. If they made everything that's the same have the same name we wouldn't be itching to try it, thus making the e-cig companies alot less money.

and while we're on the subject of clearomisers and to make it even more confusing for Firewing,
ladies and gentlemen, a dual-coil clearomiser...

Mmm...duel coil clearomisers!
I loved the clearomisers when I first started vaping, the vape on there babies would be super warm! A high resistance too!
Just aswell the UK doesn't have them! ( just to try )

I'm really not to keen on this whole dual coil tech ...... they just seem to lack the performance of a decent LR single coil.

The CE-2 ultimate clearomisers are a good disposable atomiser if you ask me.... 2.4-2.6 ohm with a 3/4 inch drip tip is a great vape.

I am finding I like the single coils in my DCT's a lot better(thanks for the tip Craig), so dual coils don't turn me on anymore...

agree with that and an LR atomiser delivers the best vape for me with my bottom feeder.  the bottom feeder for me though was a major adjustment that i had to go through.  at first i tended to over-prime the atty.  i found that just one or two at the most pumps was sufficient.

I think I would agree, it's more of a gimmick than anything else.  Though, lots of people swear by them so if someme likes them, they like them.  I'm sure there's people that would think my single coil filler type cartos with no tank suck, but I love them.  Different strokes and all.

I am still using single coils. I find I can get it hotter and it won't shut off the lavatube like the DC did, maybe because the single coils I got at a higher resistance? I am loving the Vision Ego tanks. They are cheap and produce a great warm vape at about 4.4-4.6 volts. I bought the 2.5-2.9 Ohm ones so I could go up higher, but they tend to taste burnt at anything over 4.7. The only thing I hate about them is they hold onto a taste for a long time, even if you clean them. With them being so cheap it's not such a huge issue, but wish I wouldn't have to chuck them after putting one flavor in them. Overall I am having a great vaping experience now. I am so much happier vaping now, than I was when I first started.   ;D

Glad to hear it Firewing there is nothing worse than having a bad vapiing experience but when you do find something really good it makes up for it and is rewarding and makes vaping so much more enjoyable happy vaping my friend  ;) 8)
