Ok, well we have a lot of great vendors linked to the site and are also members so if you need to know anything then they are easily found, some even offer members here a discount, look here - http://www.thevapersden.com/index.php?action=links;cat=1

Both bits of kit are great although I believe the zmax offers variable voltage as well as variable wattage, I have owned several lavatubes and have loved each one though I am preffering mechanical mods these days as there is so very little to go wrong.
there are plenty of members here that are willing to give advice so any questions feel free to ask, and remember that the only silly question is the one that you don't ask.

Ps.....always have back ups of everything including chargers :)

A warm welcome to you Stray.   Unfortunately I can't help any as I've not had either.

However, Dan has tried everything and his advice has always worked for me!

Welcome to the Den Stray!

I have to say that after getting my VAMO (I believe it has been mentioned above) I haven't used my Lavatube at all.  Right now I bounce between (ok I use all three at the same time but don't let my obsessiveness infect you) a Provari, a Vamo and an MVP.   Assuming you don't want to spend $200 USD/ 130 pounds, I would say that the VAMO is the best buy for the money.  I believe others have pointed you towards some Den registered Vendors.  One thing you may want to consider doing is Private Messaging the Vendors you are interested in dealing with and get their take on what would best meet your personal needs.

Again, welcome to the Den and I look forward to getting to know you.

Thank you all.

Please to meet and talk to people knowledgable ( I am not).
I am interested in the mechanical system mentioned (does it give the consistency)? which systems are these.
Again I am guessing at what I need (I do know I want a consistent vape that can be relied upon)
I set a target of aprox £100 this may change with better knowledge on my side.

Again thanks to all of you for taking the time to welcome and answer

£100 is a good start up figure, sometimes it seems a lot but the way I see it I would have spent that in under a month on tobacco.
The vamo although not mechanical has some excellent feed back though I would check with whichever vendor you choose that the bottom spring has been upgraded.
You will also need a couple of tanks for the juice, I would recommend vivi nova's, they have a large capacity for juice and work very very well, they also have changeble atomizer heads are very cost effective and are very consistant.
The best advice you will ever get is have back ups of back ups of back ups  ;)

Thank you all.

I am interested in the mechanical system mentioned (does it give the consistency)? which systems are these.
The mechanical systems mentioned are basically a tube holding the battery with a mechanical switch & an atty conector, no electronics at all so noyhing to go wrong..
The voltage drops off with use towards the end of the charge
They can drastically range in price from mass-produced to hand made beauties.

Links to some tube mods so you get the idea (they arenít all expensive )

Hi Stray, welcome to the forum.

Mechanical mods suffer "battery fade".  That's something I found highly annoying when I used a mechanical mod for a time.  Advanced mods are it for me since they don't do that.

Hi Stray welcome to the den :)

I highly recommend the Vamo, with this you will need at least a couple of batteries (so you can have one on charge while one is in use). The vamo can take 18350 and 18650 batteries. You will need a charger for the batteries and i also recommend Vivi Novas, again at least two. You will be well under your £100 budget if you shop wisely ;)

(Stands in the tunnel and echoes what Cath says 8))

Vamo and Vivi Novas is great. I do use mechanical stuff most of the time (Screwdriver MK1 and 2) but the electronic stuff is great and the Vamo is a brilliant example of those.

Welcome by the way Stray ;D

hi stray

welcome to the den

imo the lava tube while great when it was first out is dated and cheap by comparison to the vamo
i have had 5 lava tubes in the last 2 years and 3 of those were free replacements as they kept breaking
the zmax is not to bad but again not as good as the vamo, especially if you compare it as value for money

i have various mods including a pretty unique juno that will push out an amazing amount of power and looks fantastic and the past 4 weeks all i have used is
yes you guessed a vamo

there are some great vendors here at the den who will hook you up at a great price or if you are in no hurry you can get a vamo for as little as £20.00
from china  http://www.vaporbreak.com/en/home/171-vv...o-apv.html
if you join the site above you get a discounted price, ive got a stainless steel vamo coming for less than £24 delivered  8)
Tres Evo copper mod. Shark of vape. Dicodes Dani.

Order placed for the Viva Nova and a few UDC Kits (On this I went with the vendors advice)

Now to build the stocks up and dump those white smelly things ;D

And then to make sure we don't fall off the wagon again

Thank you all for the advice and be prepared  for many more questions

Stray, don't sweat it if you do fall off the wagon a time or five... in the end, and I forget who said this originally, "its the ones you don't have that count, not the ones you do."  Given time, you will find your switch from ciggies to vaping to be natural and one day you will look up and realize that you haven't had a ciggie in ages!
