What Battery?
« on: May 03, 2017, 09:40:08 AM »
I'm looking for some good 3000mAh batteries.  I hear Sony and Panasonic, but are they the only ones to trust for big storage batteries? #?#

Batteries are always a crap shoot if you want my honest opinion... between identical looking counterfeits and overstated specs.. you roll the dice every time.

When I buy them I only get one... if it lives up to the promises I go back and buy more.

Currently, 3000 mAH is about the maximum for a reliable 18650.

I would suspect any such battery rated at 3500 mAH as having exaggerated specs.

There are 3500mAh available but seem to be quite difficult to find. Check out Battery Mooch for the latest chart of tried and tested batteries.

I just went ahead and bought the 3000's, four of them, so in three days we have more power.

I have seen listings for a couple of 3500 mAH batteries. They stated that a special charger was needed.

Personally, my Sony VTC3 and VTC5 batteries hold plenty of power for my needs. It doesn't take long to swap a battery.

So, am I safe with the 3000 mAH batteries or do I need to track down another charger?
